We can't believe you have already been here for a month. You have made our hearts so full and so complete! Your first month, was a big one. Lots of eating, sleeping, growing, playing and visitors. I'll catch everyone up on visitors in the next post because this post is all about you. At one month:
- You eat every 2-3 hours, but in the last few days have started to sleep longer stretches at night.
- Up until last night you had been sleeping in our room at night in the pack and play or momma-roo (yes, we are aware that we may have been creating a bad habit sleeping in motion).
- Last night you slept in your big girl room for the first time for the whole night, it may have been in the security of the pack and play, but it was in your room.
- You do not like to be dirty...The first sign of something in the diaper and you are very vocal about letting us know. I can't blame you though.
- You are very alert when awake and love to take in all your surroundings. Your favorite is probably staring at the ceiling fan, but any light will really do. We do laps around the first floor of the house on a regular basis telling her what each room is and what you do there and looking at pictures, etc... I'm pretty sure you like Grandma's tour the best, but you seem to appreciate my singing of the tour and of songs toward the end of the day and I appreciate you humoring me.
- In the last week you have really enjoyed your play mat and you are starting to show signs of smiling.
- You love motion of any kind and are a great rider in the car, though getting in the carseat is sometimes a struggle because you are so little and you love walking in the stroller. You also love the vibrating button on your bassinet and will snooze in there for hours during the day.
- You went from having just a few essential outfits from before you were born to having more clothes than mommy within just a few weeks... We know you will love pink and can't wait to model all the great outfits that have been sent your way.
- According to Daddy you are a fan of Patrick Swayze from watching Road House.
- You sleep on your back with your arms up and stretch it out always before letting us know you are ready to be held.
- You make many faces, usually after eating, but mommy's favorite is your little "oh" face...it's just so cute.
- Your first month of life is the hottest it's been in a long, long time, but we have survived most of it from the comfort of the family room.
- You are the hit of any store we go in and of the neighborhood, everyone wants to take a look at the new baby and they think you are so cute and sweet, which you are, unless you are crying...Then you need what you need ASAP.
- You are starting to smile, grab fingers and have found your hands for sure...We are waiting for the day you are able to put your whole fist in your mouth because you get so frustrated when it won't go in (we laugh at you).
- We can't wait to see what the next month will bring.
