9 months!

Yo Baby Parker!   Is a regular greeting for you...partly because you love Yo Baby Yogurt so much and will point to the fridge till you get some and partly because it's fun for us to say!

You are growing more and more into a toddler everyday and are starting to lose some of your baby.  You have had a big month and have done lots of big girl things whether you liked it or not...

Alright lady...here is your run down for the month!

The Basics

• Based on a very unconventional weigh-in/measurement at the Surgery Center (with a very full diaper, thanks for that!) you are about 17 pounds and 26-27 inches long.  Your official stats will come today at your well visit, but for now you remain a peanut!
• You remain in size 2 diapers and 6-9 month clothes, but mostly 6 month if we want you to look tailored and neat...Though the 9 month jammies are starting to be more comfy for you, accept when you pull your arms into your body during the night and you get stuck, that's not comfy and involves screaming.
• On a side note mommy loves you in overalls because your pants stay on the best, we really don't like you flashing your diapered bum off to others!  Daddy likes the overalls because he makes you fly when you wear them which is always good for a belly laugh!
• You are 100% formula fed as of 3 weeks ago.  That's going well and while I was somewhat sad to see the pumping end, I'm enjoying an extra hour or so of playtime with you and that makes for a happy Parker and happy Mommy!
• You will only eat home made puree's or diced foods. You love cheese, blueberries, grapes and graham crackers!  You are a riot to watch with a teething biscuit and in general would prefer if we served you blueberries, yo-baby and oatmeal all the time.  Sorry Sweet P, that just isn't going to happen.  Mommy is getting braver and the food is getting chunkier, while you are dying for some chips and salsa, we are going to get you going on some more meats and veggies before that happens.

  

  I LOVE BLUEBERRIES!

• We will review sleeping at month 10...You have been pretty messed up this month with your ears and we can't blame you.  You and I have enjoyed lots of late night snuggles in the recliner, though I'm glad we are both back in our own beds.  Parker, just as an FYI you not only snore, but you growl in your sleep sometimes too...It was kind of spooky at 3 am!  

The Fun Stuff

• You move non-stop.  You can crawl up the stairs with mommy following you and daddy waiting at the top.  
• You love the drain pipe cover in the basement. You zoom for it whenever we are down there and lay on it and lick it.  It's gross, weird and hilarious at the same time.
• You love your books.  You will have us read any of the "Baby Books"  (i.e.  Baby At The Farm, Where is Baby's Belly Button?, Where is Baby's Pumpkin?) over and over again.  You will take all the books out of the container and spread them out and point to what you would like read or just sit and read to yourself, it depends on your mood.  You have mastered many of the books that have flip up pages.
• You figured out how to pull up on the freezer when it's open and you like to point at the foods you think you should be having...Baby Back Ribs are not quite yours for the taking little one.
• Parker you would like to take your next bath in the dishwasher and are constantly scheming to get yourself in there when it's open...  It's pretty funny, but I'm onto you.
• You are still fascinated with the fireplace and are very strategic when making a run for it, all while saying no, no...  Perhaps you are learning?
• You started saying bye-bye and will whisper hi.  You know Momma and Dadda and are definitely reading lips to say other things.
• At school you are Miss Independence.  You crawl everywhere and hold your own when the older kids try to take a toy you are hoarding.  We understand you pulled someone's hair this month when they grabbed "your" rattle...So we are starting to talk about being nice, though I doubt you are getting it.
• Parker you are starting to be so loving.  You give hugs and open mouth kisses, you will stroke my arm when I carry you and have found comfort with laying your head on our shoulders to take in the world. This was normally saved for "I'm tired" moments.  
• You remain thoughtful and observant and are so brave!  You tackled swim lessons and your first procedure this month and we remain so proud of you! 
• We are betting if you will walk this month...You are starting to try to stand independently so we will see!
